Service is Devotion
The existence of Lord Shiva "Aghor" is believed to be there even before creation of life in universe. Aghor is an ancient spritual discipline and has been practised ever since the early days of Vedic Era. Words like "Aghor", "Aughad", "Kapalik", "Aghori", "Aughar", "Awadhoot" means the same, which is simple and natural state of consciousness.
Kashi (Varanasl) is known as the City of Shiva. The aghoris claim lineage from the Avadhuta Siddhas of Varanasi which in turn emanate from Lord Shiva himself. The first aghor was Aghor Bhairavacharya of the 5th-6th century and his lineage was revived by Baba Kinaram in the 16th century. After receiving darshan of Bhagwan Dattatreya, Baba Kinaram established the Krim Kund Sthal in Varanasi. The recorded history of the Siddhas who headed the ashram in Varanasi at Krim Kund is as follows:
1620-1771
1771-1781
1781-1846
1846-1857
1857-1882
1882-1927
1927-1941
